Energy and Environment
Energy clients have formed the backbone of FD Americas Public Affairs’ clientele for more than a decade. During this time, we have managed successful public affairs campaigns for clients on complex energy policy issues such as climate change, increased energy exploration and production, carbon capture and storage, electricity deregulation, natural gas prices, renewable energy development, and business and consumer energy efficiency. Our team of professionals have experience working at Fortune 500 energy companies, House and Senate energy and environment committees, the U.S. Department of Energy and international public relations firms.
Case Study:
For more than 75 years, the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) has represented thousands of small and independent energy producers across the United States. And for nearly a decade, IPAA has relied on FD Americas Public Affairs to effectively communicate the nature and necessity of their work — from advancements in new technology and innovations in environmental safety, to the growing nexus between greater access to domestic supplies and long-term economic security — to the media, policymakers and the American public. In 2008, as the global imbalance between supply and demand manifested in record-high gas prices, IPAA leveraged the experience of FD Americas Public Affairs to convert difficult communications challenges into unprecedented opportunities for domestic energy exploration on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). Armed with a unique understanding of the policy and political mechanics involved in lifting the federal ban that had prevented such exploration for nearly 30 years, FD Americas Public Affairs served as a catalyzing force in an effort that culminated in the retirement of this longstanding ban.
“When it comes to positioning an energy issue, FD is the go-to firm for results.”
— Barry Russell, President and CEO, IPAA
